Taormina, March 2013

“Man from Taormina”

Taormina is a town in Sicily, about halfway up a mountain. There are plenty of buses that make the trip, but knowing which ones go where can sometimes get you stuck. We came down the steps twice, the second time well after dark. Very fun, but I wouldn’t recommend going up them. We counted 1,324. Anyway, I digress. At the top of the steps, and central to the town, people gather in the plaza to have a view of Mount Etna. This man was seated on a sculpted marble bench. It was a cool morning and he was dressed to stay warm.
