‘teaksouls’ website (and our nickname) began as a way to share what life was like aboard our sailboat, Alexandra. We both love teak, this boat had it, and had a lot of solid qualities to offer. We dreamed of living on a boat ever since we first met, and even though things didn’t go quite the same way the vision first inspired, we set some goals, changed them a bit, and found a way to make the dream happen.

We are happy that we had these ten years living aboard our heavy, double-ender. She’s now enjoying other happy adventures with her new owners on the west coast. 

Upon our permanent return to our Kentucky home in Murray, we kept our ‘nickname’, built a studio in the back yard (Two Doves Studio), and started doing art together. I guess that could be another story.
